FALL FEST
CLOSES JENNERSTOWNS 1999 RACING SEASON
Jennerstown, Pa.-(Sept. 18, 1999)-The checkered flag fell
on Jennerstown Speedways 1999 season Saturday, Sept. 18th, as area amateur drivers
competed for cash prizes in the First Annual Fall Fest Nationals.
Fall Fest 1999 included Spectator Drags and a 100-lap
Enduro. Twelve spectators braved the half-mile oval, pulling their street cars onto the
track for the double-elimination event. Wade Champeno came out with the win and the $150
first-place prize in his White Ford SHO. Jim Barron and Brad McCoy also took home cash
prizes for their second and third-place finishes.
Mike Griffith pocketed $150 for his win in the truck
division of the Spectator Drags. Griffiths Chevy S10 pulled ahead to steal the win
from Matt Glessener who settled for second, followed by Travis Deter.
Following the Spectator Drags, over 50 competitors pulled
enduro cars to battle for the $500 first-place prize. Ken Henry lasted the 100-lap event
to claim the prize. Jennerstown regular Mike Bakalon took home second, followed by June
Weyandt.
Come celebrate all of Jennerstowns 1999 track
champions and competitors Saturday, December 4th at the 32nd Annual
Awards Banquet at the Four Points Hotel in Greensburg, Pa. Tickets are now available, and
