SEASON COMING TO A CLOSE AT JENNERSTOWN SPEEDWAY
Jennerstown,
Pa.-(August 31, 1999)-Local
racers have one final shot at Jennerstown Speedway’s
track championships, as the 1999 season comes to a close
Saturday, September 4th. Easy Care will
present a full night of racing, including NAPA Late
Model Twin 30s, Legacy Blue/Grey Shootout, Giant Eagle
Pro Trucks, Grand American Modifieds, Street Stocks and
Chargers.
It is a tight points
battle throughout the six divisions at Jennerstown, and
the coveted track championships are on the line. Six
champions will be named at the evening’s conclusion.
Bruceton Mills, W.Va.
driver Richard Mitchell is leading the NAPA Late Model
division at Jennerstown and holds seven feature wins in
1999. Mitchell looks to add a couple more wins to his
season, and is looking to sweep Southwestern
Pennsylvania’s Late Model championships at both
Jennerstown and Motordrome Speedways, plus he leads the
NASCAR Winston Racing Series CPI in the Northeast
region.
Bryan Thomas of
Hooversville holds the Giant Eagle Pro Truck points lead
over Nick Rosa of Ligonier. Grand American Modified
driver Thomas Knight Jr. of Plum sits atop the points in
his division, followed by Mark Flick of Apollo in
second. It’s a close battle in Street Stocks with Doug
Shaulis of Somerset holding a 20-point lead over
second-place George T. Nicola of Pittsburgh. Akron, OH’s
Matt Smith looks to add another win to his already
impressive season in the PA Legacy Cars.
Don’t miss the last
chance to see some of the best NASCAR and Legacy racing
in Southwestern Pennsylvania Saturday, September 4th
at Jennerstown. Heat races begin at 6:30 p.m., followed
by the Legacy Blue/Grey Shootout at 7:30 p.m. Plus,
watch as the 1999 Jennerstown Speedway track champions
are crowned following their final features of the
