LOCAL
RACERS GEARING UP FOR PINEY LASKY MEMORIAL AT
JENNERSTOWN
Jennerstown, Pa-(May 14, 1999)- NAPA Auto Parts Late
Model competitors are busy gearing up for arguably
Jennerstown Speedway's most prestigious event, the 3rd
Annual Piney Lasky Memorial 200 on May 29th.
The
Piney Lasky Memorial 200 began in 1997 as a tribute to
honor the late Stanley "Piney" Lasky. Piney and his wile
Clara purchased Jennerstown Speedway in 1967. This began
the Speedway's 32-year rein as Western Pennsylvania's
Finest Motorsports Complex, bringing fans some of the
best NASCAR racing in the Northeast.
The
local racing community remembers Piney as a great
pioneer of stock-car racing and a friend, with his
reputation for bringing fans the finest local racing and
numerous touring divisions throughout the seasons.
"We are
very proud to have the opportunity to honor Piney Lasky
with this 200-lap event," Speedway General Manager Bob
Duvall said. "And we couldn't ask for a better sponsor
than Kennametal for the third year in a row. They
provide the same commitment to their employees and
customers that Piney provided to the race fans here at
Jennerstown Speedway."
"Rapid"

two-time champion, winning the Piney Lasky 200 both in
1997 and 1998. Each race car in the 30-car starting
field will be paid $400 to start, and the winner will
take home $4,000 in prize money.
In
addition to the Piney Lasky 200, fans will see more
racing action with the IRVVIN RV Pro Truck 50, paying
$800 to win and $100 to start. PA Legacy cars will race
