Jennerstown Speedway Dedicates Night to Special Olympics

Jennerstown, Pa.-(June 24, 1999)- As a tribute to Special Olympics, Jennerstown Speedway will open its gates free of charge to all special athletes Saturday, June 26th. This has become an annual event at the Speedway for the Olympians and their families.

NAPA Auto Parts Late Model driver Dave Houpt will run the Special Olympics' logo on his car, giving the Olympians a favorite to cheer on. As an added incentive, Houpt will donate his winnings to the Somerset Chapter of the Special Olympics.

"This will be the fourth consecutive year Dave has done something this wonderful," Speedway General Manager Bob Duvall said. "It is a true tribute to Dave and the kind of people in this racing community."

The 30th Masonic District will present this full night of racing at Jennerstown. After taking last Saturday night off for the NASCAR Double Header, all six divisions will compete. Gates open at 4:30 p.m., and Heats begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by the feature events. Adults enter for only $7.50, and all children 12 and under are FREE. Call the Speedway Office for details at (814)629-6677.
