Jennerstown Prepares For Spectator Racing To Celebrate
Independence Day
Jennerstown,
Pa.-(June 23, 1999)-
Tired of the same-old 4th of July routine? Make this
year's Independence day one to remember. Come to
Jennerstown Speedway Saturday, July 3rd to test your
racing talent in the 1st Annual Tire Squealin' Nationals
Three different features are scheduled for the
event. Four-cylinder, non turbo-charged front-wheel
drive passenger sedans are invited to race the Enduro.
Race 100 laps or one hour for a cash prize. First place
takes home $300, second place $100, third and fourth
both receive $50.
A 30-lap Charger Invitational is also planned. All
entries must adhere to the Motordrome/Jennerstown Rule
Book. Trophies and money will be awarded to the winners,
$300 for first, $100 for second, and $50 for third-and
fourth-place finishes.
Pull your car, truck, SUV or van straight off the
road onto the half-mile oval for a one-on-one Spectator
Drag. Vehicles will be divided into two classes, cars
and trucks/SUVs/vans. Competitors will start from a
stand-still, and the first vehicle back to the
start-finish line moves on. Both classes will declare a
winner. First places will both be awarded $150, seconds
$50, and thirds and fourths $25.
"We are very excited about the 1st Annual Tire
Squealin' Nationals," Speedway Promoter Stan Lasky said.
"This is the perfect opportunity for anyone to test
their racing skills, and it will make for a unique 4th
of July celebration. We anticipate quite a turn out."
There are no entry fees for competitors, so
challenge friends and neighbors. Pit gates open at 3
p.m., main gates at 4:30 p.m. Races are scheduled to
begin at 6:30 p.m. This will be a show nobody should
miss. Admission is only $10 for a pit pass, $5 for the
grandstands and children 12 and under are FREE.
