NASCAR AND LEGACY COMPETITION CONTINUES AT JENNERSTOWN
Jennerstown,
Pa.-(Aug. 25, 1999)-Time
is running out for racers in Western Pennsylvania. The
1999 Super Six Racing season is coming down to its two
final races, as local drivers lay it all on the line,
looking to take the coveted track championships at
Jennerstown Speedway. Saturday, August 28th
Craftsman will present the second to last chance drivers
will have to make claims at the track championships.
Richard Mitchell of
Bruceton Mills, W.Va. looks to increase his lead in
Jennerstown’s featured NAPA Auto Parts Late Model
division. Mitchell has accumulated 596 points, stemming
from his six wins, and he has recorded top-10 finishes
in all of his starts this season. Mark Cottone of
McKeesport is nipping at Mitchell’s tail, holding the
second-place point standing. Cottone is Jennerstown’s
defending track champion, and his 1999 statistics
include one win and all top-10 finishes in his 13
starts. Cottone trails Mitchell by only 40 points with
two sets of Twin 30s left to go.
Bryan Thomas of
Hooversville sits on top of the Giant Eagle Pro Truck
division with two wins and a 24-point lead over Nick
Rosa of Ligonier. Rosa leads the division in feature
wins, scoring six in 1999, and looks to close the point
gap and reclaim the number one spot.
Other division leaders
include: Thomas Knight Jr. in Grand American Modifieds,
Doug Shaulis in Street Stocks, and Mike Smith in PA
Legacy cars.

Winston Racing Series’ and PA Legacy division’s racing
action Saturday night at Jennerstown Speedway.
Craftsman’s presentation of the night’s events includes
a special double feature, Twin 30s, for NAPA Late Models
and a 50-lap event for Street Stocks. Giant Eagle Pro
Trucks and Grand American Modifieds are also scheduled
to compete. Plus, PA Legacy cars will make up the 25-lap
feature canceled on August 14th.
Gates open at 4:30 p.m.
