Jennerstown, PA (November, 1998)
To all
race competitors,
I would
like to take this opportunity to explain to all
competitors about the 1999 race season at Jennerstown
Speedway. The impending sale of the speedway did not go
through as anticipated so my mother and myself have
decided to continue with a full race event schedule for
1999.
This
would not be possible without the help of several
individuals. First of all it was imperative to me that
Bob Duvall return as general manager. He and I have
agreed upon a term employment contract that I believe
will help solidify the future of racing here at
Jennerstown. Secondly we are presently negotiating with
a group of investors to help raise the necessary capital
to repave certain portions of the racetrack.
With
these in place I am pleased to announce that we are
presently working on a 20 week schedule for 1999. We
will open on May 1st and run through the ASA weekend on
September 11-12th. Weekly race events will be know as
our Super Six racing program and will consist of the
same 6 divisions that we ran in 1998. We will also run
4 major shows, one each month as we have in the past.
These special shows are presently being negotiated and
will be firmed up when we release our schedule at the
Awards Banquet.
I look
at this return to racing here as an opportunity to start
things over again with "a clean piece of paper". Bob
Duvall and myself have been working on a total "new"
marketing program for the future here at Jennerstown
Speedway. By the banquet time we will have spent six
weeks refining this new marketing approach and I hope
that you will be both impressed and as excited about it
as I am.
By the
time you receive this letter you should have received
the 1999 Motordrome Speedway rules book. We will use
this rules book, it's procedures, and any technical
bulletins issued to it, as the 1999 rules for
Jennerstown Speedway. If you have not received this
rules book, please call me here at Jennerstown Speedway
and I will see that you get a copy immediately.
I want
to thank everyone for their patience and cooperation and
words of encouragement over the past several weeks. You
have my promise that Bob and myself will work harder
than ever to provide a successful and enjoyable 1999
race season here at Jennerstown Speedway.
Sincerely,
Stanley
Lasky Jr.
Bob
Duvall
