April 10, 2008...
Kurt Busch in the Penske Racing No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger
will join the action at Jennerstown Speedway with celebrity
drivers Clint Bowyer, Ken Schrader, Rusty Wallace and one final
driver yet to be announced. The drivers will participate in two
exhibition races and an autograph session on Saturday May 31st
in Jennerstown’s annual Race of Champions event.
Busch like a lot of drivers running in the NASCAR Sprint Cup
Series began his career racing go-karts. Kurt began to show his
talent running the Dwarf Car Series in his home town of Las
Vegas. He was awarded Rookie of the Year in 1994 and captured
the championship in both 1995 and 1996. |

|
In 1999, at the age of 21, Kurt would be the youngest driver to
win the NASCAR Southwest Series championship. Just six years
from his start in the Dwarf cars, Busch would run with NASCAR’s
elite drivers in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck and Sprint Cup
series. In 2000, Kurt ran a full time schedule in the truck
series and seven starts in the Sprint Cup Series for Roush
Fenway Racing. Kurt finished the truck series runner-up with
the Rookie of the Year title.

Roush Fenway Racing, in 2001, would move Busch to a full time
schedule in the Sprint Cup Series where he has continued to show
his talents. Kurt moved his way up in the final point standings
finishing third in only his second full time season. Busch
captured NASCAR’s ultimate prize with a Sprint Cup Championship
in only his fourth season. Kurt in the Miller Lite Dodge is
currently running just outside of the chase in fifteenth
position with the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. “I was excited to
find out that we could add Kurt to the lineup that now includes
two generations of drivers that ran for the same Miller Lite
sponsor. It will be a great experience for race fans when these
two drivers become part of the same race program on such a local
level” said Joe Dirienzo track promoter.
One more drivers will be announced in the next week or two
adding to the Jennerstown Speedway’s Race of Champions event
which has attracted sell out crowds in both 2005 and 2006.
“There were scheduling conflicts with the Jennerstown and
driver’s schedules that prevented the event from taking place in
the 2007 season” stated Joe Dirienzo new track promoter. “Under
my new ownership and management, I have changed the ticketing
and autograph procedures slightly to allow the fans more
opportunities to get up close and personal with their favorite
celebrity drivers during the event. |
|
The first change came with the price of the admission ticket
prices. The last event carried a $30 advance ticket cost to
race fans. The $30 advance ticket cost will remain in effect
for fans who wish to purchase a premier seat in Jennerstown’s
upper sections. New for the 2008 event, a $20 general admission
seat will be available to race fans as well. With either
ticket, the format will remain the same for the autograph
session. Autograph coupons that are specific to each of the
five drivers will be randomly inserted into the speedway’s
collectable souvenir program book. Due to the limited amount of
autographs that the driver’s can sign, not every program will
contain an autograph ticket. However, if a souvenir program
doesn’t contain an autograph ticket that fan will find a ticket
to a future speedway event or a coupon for a FREE item off of
the speedway’s concession menu. All ticket holders will have
the opportunity to purchase only one collectable souvenir
program per validated ticket stub. At a time determined by
speedway officials the program sales will be opened up for
anyone to purchase unlimited additional programs to ensure that
all the autograph tickets have been distributed. |
|
The second ticket change is new to the 2008
event. Jennerstown has added a very limited number of exclusive
VIP autograph tickets for each driver. With the purchase of
this ticket, fans will receive the premier $30 grandstand ticket
along with a guaranteed autograph ticket for the driver of their
choice during a VIP autograph session to precede the main
autograph session. The cost of this VIP ticket will be $75 in
advance.
Fans who wish a guaranteed autograph ticket
for each driver may purchase the deluxe VIP ticket for $225.
This deluxe VIP ticket will entitle a fan an autograph from all
the NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers in attendance. Both the VIP and
deluxe VIP tickets must be purchased by calling the speedway
office at 814-629-6677 or 814-442-5519. |
|
Track management is currently working on details of an Ultimate
fan ticket. This ticket will consist of a premier ticket to the
grandstands. Along with a grandstand ticket each Ultimate
ticket holder will accommodate all the celebrity drivers,
attending the event at Jennerstown, during their transport to
the speedway in the limo or motor coach. These fans will spend
time during transport to the speedway getting autographs, taking
pictures and most importantly sharing conversation with the
drivers. These tickets have not been made available yet but
details will follow very soon on how fans can get the
opportunity to obtain this once in a lifetime experience. |
