JENNERSTOWN SUBMITS
TO BAD WEATHER / POSTPONES WATKINS CHEVROLET CAR CRUISE
JENNERSTOWN, PA
(May 12, 2006) …Due to the forecast of inclement weather,
Jennerstown Speedway has postponed its race activities scheduled
for Sat. May 13. The Watkins Chevrolet NASCAR Nostalgia Car
Cruise Night will be rescheduled for a later date.
“It has always been
our policy to cancel events as early as possible, if it appears
there is no chance of running the entire event,” said
Jennerstown General Manager Larry Mattingly. “That factor
becomes even more important this season with skyrocketing energy
costs. We don’t want our competitors and fans wasting their hard
earned money if there is little chance of us racing.”
The upcoming May
20th race program will feature an ‘Armed Forces Appreciation
Day’ theme, with every branch of the United States Armed Forces
in attendance with personnel and military equipment displays
spread around the Speedway grounds. This will truly be a special
all day event, providing everyone with the opportunity to come
out to Jennerstown Speedway. The main gates will open at 12:00
noon, giving Americans from across the region ample time to meet
service men and women face-to-face to show their appreciation,
while strolling around the various exhibits. Grandstand gates
will open at 5:00 p.m., with racing action starting at 6:00 p.m.
Concessions will open at 2:00 p.m.
“We’re also having
kids’ uniform night, camouflage face painting, an on track
autograph session with all of the drivers and cars, along with
our fantastic, family favorite, FIREWORKS,” Mattingly said.
Admission has been set at $4.00 for all seats.
