JENNERSTOWN
SPEEDWAY HOSTS TRUCKIN’ THUNDER NIGHT
JENNERSTOWN, PA (July
11) … Jennerstown Speedway will honor the men and women who keep America
rolling this Saturday evening (June 15) when Fox & James Freightliner,
Hunter’s Truck Sales and Service and D.M. Bowman, Inc. join forces to
salute area truck drivers by presenting Truckin’ Thunder Night.
Headlining the
evening’s activities will be Indiana-based stuntman Paul Stender, who is
bringing an arsenal of three jet powered vehicles to the Somerset County
speed emporium.
Stender
will light up the Jennerstown sky with his famed jet delivery truck, and
street legal ‘Crunch Time’ jet-powered wrecker. Also during the course
of the evening, Stender will attempt to set a new closed-course speed
record for outhouses, when he cranks up his jet-propelled ‘one holer’ on
the front straightaway.
Also on the agenda for
area eighteen wheel jockeys is a Big Rig Show ‘n Shine contest, with
awards going to the best looking semi-trucks in attendance. In addition
there will also be an on-track ‘Big Rig’ cruise during intermission. Any
driver with a CDL license will be admitted free to the night’s
activities.
A
complete racing program for the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series will also be
in the spotlight, featuring action for the Courtesy Suzuki super late
models, WJAC-TV late models, Advance Auto Parts street stocks and the
hobby stocks.
Lebanon teenage Kyle
Martel will be looking for his third victory of the season, following a
dominating triumph last Sat. in the 40-lap super late model main event.
Andrew Kostelnik will
be gunning for his sixth consecutive victoy in street stock action,
while Dusty Rhoads will attempt to continue his domination in the late
model class.
Admission is $8.00 for
adults, while kids age 12 and under will be admitted free.
Spectator gates open
at 5:00 pm, with the first race set begin at 6:00 pm.
