Jennerstown
loses to rain…again
JENNERSTOWN, PA
(June 11, 2005) ….Even with 20
members of the clergy in the pit area for the inaugural ‘Faster Pastor’
race, Jennerstown Speedway still fell victim to the elements. A
persistent rain pelted the half-mile paved Somerset County oval forcing
the cancellation of the NASCAR DODGE Weekly Series program on Saturday
evening.
Jennerstown will try
again next Saturday when the open wheel, winged-warriors of the
International Super Modified Association (ISMA) make their only
Pennsylvania appearance. Billed as the fastest short-track cars in the
world, the ISMA field will be led by two-time defending champion Chris
Perley, who won last seasons event at Jennerstown.
The twice postponed
twin 30-lap features for the super late model class has been rescheduled
for Sat., June 25.
The popular ‘Faster
Paster’ race has been moved to the big July 2 Stars and Stripes Fan
Appreciation Night special which will feature free admission to anyone
dressed as an American Hero, fireworks, and Ricky Rudd’s NASCAR Nextel
Cup Air Force show car.
Spectator gates for
the ISMA event, which will also spotlight feature races only for the
five NASCAR weekly classes, will open at 2:00 PM. Racing begins at 6:30.
