Tim Bainey Jr. had
another strong run Saturday Night making his 2nd
appearance of the season in the #15 DelGrosso Racing
NASCAR Super Late Model at Jennerstown Speedway.
The team spent most
of the afternoon and early evening watching the rain
come at go at the famed ½ mile speedway. It seemed
as though the track crew would manage to get the
speedway dried up and in racing condition just in
time for another series of showers. The delay would
see the night’s events pushed back from a 5:00 start
time to about 8:30 that night.
It was a rough
afternoon for Tim Jr. as he spent most of that time
resting in the transporter trying to overcome the
effects of a severe cold/flu that he was suffering
since early Friday morning. “We were doing all we
could to get Timmy feeling better, I just kept
telling him to save his energy and we could take
care of things, “ said his dad and team owner Tim
Bainey Sr.
As the rain slowed the
track would offer the teams one last chance to get
the cars onto the track before going right into the
qualifying events. The team needed to get a check on
the car after making extensive repairs to it as a
result of the damage sustained after the last race 2
weeks ago, so it was decided that Tim Jr’s younger
brother Dan would take the car out and shake it down
during the open session.
“It seems alright to
me,” said Dan with a smile as he climbed out of the
#15 car and headed to the transporter to talk things
over with Tim Jr. and Tim Sr.
