CHAMPENO SET TO BREAK OUT OF EARLY SEASON SLUMP

Wade Champeno, driver of the #77 Late Model, is hoping to turn around his rough 2005 season this Saturday at Jennerstown Speedway.

After a 2004 season that saw Wade pick up a victory and 12 top five finishes, Wade has just one top five finish and has failed to finish the remaining two races.

In the first feature of the year, Wade was running in the third position when he was caught up in a wreck with a lapped car and relegated to sixth.  Luckily, the frame was not bent on the car and the team was back in action the next week.  During that race, Wade fought an ill-handling car to hold onto the fourth position.

In the season’s third race on June 4th, the Wade Champeno Racing crew finally hit the setup on the #77 Monte Carlo.  Wade led the first seven laps before battling side by side with Dusty Rhoads for the final eighteen laps.  Wade finally lost control coming out of turn four on the last lap, backing into the turn four wall.  A sixth place finish was the result.  “Our goal is to run more consistently and contend for the championship,” remarked the 23-year-old driver.  “The car is working better than anything I’ve driven in the past.”

Champeno Racing sponsors include Tom Mauk Construction, Racerz Edge Motorsports, and Champeno Signs & Decals.  The team is currently searching for additional marketing partners.  Interested parties should contact Wade Champeno at 814.239.5165.  For more information on Wade Champeno Racing visit www.geocities.com/wadechampeno.

Wade is confident he will turn around his season with a victory this Saturday, June 18th.  The ISMA Supermodifieds will also be in town, along with the 5-division NASCAR Weekly Racing Series program.  Adult advance tickets are just $15.00.  Visit Jennerstown.com for more details.
