by Mike Rininger
Jennerstown,
PA ( July 31, 2004 ) - Heavy rain throughout the morning and
early afternoon hours forced the cancellation of the NASCAR
Dodge Weekly Series action at Jennerstown Speedway. The final
appearance of the season by the WSoA 305 sprint cars was
scheduled to take place along with twin 50-lap features in the
Wheeler Brothers Super Late Models. This is the fourth weather
cancellation of the abbreviated schedule at the Laurel Highlands
Oval this year. Jennerstown Speedway will look for sunnier skies
next Saturday, as USG will present the night’s racing action. On
the card will be a regular show for the Wheeler Brothers Super
Late Models, New Enterprise Stone and Lime Late Models, Day Ford
Street Stocks, Advance Auto Parts Hobby Stocks, and the PA
Legacy Series. The Somerset Furniture Sales Chargers will be
running a 15-lap feature sponsored by Hoss’s Steak and Seafood
Restaurant and making an appearance will be the Pittsburgh
Circle Track Club Senior Series drivers for competition.
In two weeks the American Speed Association invades Jennerstown
for the annual running of the Jennerstown 250. Added to the
schedule for competition that night are the Wheeler Brothers
Super Late Models and the New Enterprise Stone and Lime Late
Models. For more information contact the track office Monday
through Friday at 814.629.6677 or log onto www.jennerstown.com.
