On a beautiful night
for racing, the PA Legacy Series, powered by
Romesburg Media, was at Jennerstown Speedway would
first pay tribute to the victims on the anniversary
of the September 11 tragedy. Following the driver
autograph session, a moment of silence was held for
all the victims which concluded with a parade lap by
some of the competitors carrying the American Flag
around the track and a musical tribute to those who
died on Flight 93, which crashed just miles from the
speedway.
Jayme Bolkovac took the
lead at the drop of the green flag in the 25-lap PA
Legacy Series feature event and never looked back.
Dave Campbell and Kyle Martel both passed second
place Chris Brink near the halfway point of the race
but Jayme Bolkovac was out to a commanding lead. On
lap 18, Kyle Martel made the pass on Dave Campbell
for second and set his sights on reeling in Jayme
Bolkovac. But on this night Kyle Martel would have
to settle for the runner-up spot as Jayme Bolkovac
had the field covered, taking her second win of the
season in the caution free event. Dave Campbell, PJ
Ehrlich and Chris Brink rounded out the top five.
Kyle Martel extended his point lead on Dave Campbell
and now leads by 34 points. Kyle Martel and Jayme
Bolkovac won the heats.
Next Saturday night,
September 18, 2004, will be the final race of the
2004 for the PA Legacy Series. It will also be the
last night that any team can get some ‘seat time’ on
the track prior to the Allison Legacy 50 to be held
on Saturday, September 25, 2004.
