WINS IN A ROW AT JENNERSTOWN SPEEDWAY
It was 'Fan
Appreciation Night' at Jennerstown Speedway as the crowd,
estimated at over 6,000, was treated to a fantastic night of
racing that included the PA Legacy Series, powered by Romesburg
Media. After an hour-long driver autograph session, which saw
all drivers and their cars parked on the frontstretch to meet
with the fans, the action on the track heated up. After the
racing was completed, Shaffer Pyrotechnics presented a
spectacular fireworks display.
Kyle Martel jumped out to a quick lead in the PA
Legacy Series feature event with Jayme Bolkovac following close
behind throughout the early stages of the race. Bolkovac could
get right behind Martel but not make her move, but coming on
strong was P.J. Ehrlich as the third place driver was closing in
on the leaders. His break came on lap 19 when the caution flew
for a spinning Brad Grace. Bolkovac got to the high side of
Martel on the restart but could not make the pass which allowed
Ehrlich to move to the inside and eventually make the move past
Bolkovac into second but could not catch Martel who went onto
take the win. PJ Ehrlich came home second while a three-wide
battle to the stripe for third saw Bolkovac hold off Brett Boyer
and Dave Campbell for the spot. Brett Boyer took fourth and
Dave Campbell fifth. Brett Boyer won the heat race in which saw
a hard crash involving Ed Butler and Dave Holder, eliminating
them from the remainder of the evening.
Kyle Martel also picked up his first ever win in
the Wheeler Brothers Super Late Models, Jennerstown Speedway
premier division.
Next scheduled event for the PA Legacy Series,
powered by Romesburg Media, will be Saturday, July 17, 2004 at
Jennerstown Speedway.
