(Jennerstown, PA) Once again, foul weather had the upper
hand when it came to Saturday night racing in Western
Pennsylvania. While the Jennerstown Speedway crew and
drivers tried valiantly to dry the Laurel Highlands
Oval, there was simply too much water and racing was
suspended after three feature races in the NASCAR Dodge
Weekly Series.
In the
Jennerstown Speedway Modifed feature, Irwin, PA’s Bob
Bentz, Jr. visited victory lane for the second
consecutive week. He took the lead nine laps into the
rain shortened race and survived numerous incidents to
win the feature. Bentz was followed by Mike Bakalon,
Matt Smith, Jason Busch and Paul Urso in the top five.
Bentz was also the heat race winner.
In the
Jennerstown Speedway Street Stocks, points leader Dink
Colarusso continued his dominance of the division by
winning his sixth of seven races. Colarusso started in
the sixth place position, worked his way through the
pack and passed Roger Onstead taking the lead on lap 12.
West Mifflin, PA’s Dink Colarusso and Onstead were
followed by Billy Mostoller, Todd Knight and Robert
Smith in the top five. Colarusso was also the heat race
winner.
Points
leader Chantal Germek led every lap of the Jennerstown
Speedway Charger feature While Germek pulled out with
the lead, there was a spirited battle for the second
through fifth positions. Germek was followed by Duane
Noel, Phill Grubbs, Gerg Praysner and Scott Bowman in
the top five. Germek was the winner of the heat race.
