TO THE CHECKERED ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR 2004 - SHOW
EXPANDING TO PROVIDE COVERAGE OF ALL MOTORSPORTS IN
WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA
(Somerset, PA) Fans of all types of racing in Western
Pennsylvania will have a new information source in June
as a popular motorsports television show will have a new
look.
The multi-award winning Chase to the Checkered, better
known as "C2C," will now bring highlights of all types
of racing into the homes of millions every Saturday
morning through the summer. From motocross to drag
racing, to the region's ovals and road courses, C2C will
be there with cameras rolling in 2004.
For the past two years, C2C provided award winning
coverage and highlights of racing and events solely at
Jennerstown Speedway. But the explosion of the racing
industry in Western Pennsylvania forced the producers of
the program to reevaluate the show's scope and purpose.
"While our coverage and support of racing at Jennerstown
was fantastic, we needed to open the program up to
different types of racing in order to make the show more
attractive to a wider variety of race fans, teams,
series and sponsors," said C2C Executive Producer Jarred
Romesburg. "Of course, C2C will still include the great
racing at Jennerstown, but it has always been our goal
to develop a program that will highlight all types of
racing in our region."
Beginning Saturday, June 5, 2004 at 9:00am, Chase to the
Checkered will be broadcast weekly to over 1.47 Million
households on WNPA-TV UPN-19 in Pittsburgh and WJAC-TV
in Johnstown/Altoona/State College.
