MITCHELL SHOOTING FOR SWEEP AT JENNERSTOWN

BRUCETON MILLS, WV (Aug. 23)...... West Virginia driver Richard Mitchell will
be looking for a clean sweep this year at Jennerstown (PA) Speedway during
the running of the Wheeler Bros. AC Delco 200-lap NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series
late-model event Sat. evening.  The two-time NASCAR Northeast region champion
will attempt to put his Howard Concrete Pumping Chevrolet Monte Carlo in victory
lane for the fourth time this season in extra-distance races.

Mitchell already has scored the Jennerstown "hat trick", picking up the
checkered flag in 75, 100 and 150-lap events already in 2003.  Additionally,
Mitchell has four long distance race wins under his belt at the Motordrome (PA)
Speedway.

"I never thought we would be able to win seven long distance races this
season," Mitchell said.  You go in with the mindset that you can win them all, but
there are some many things that can go wrong in the long races, that you
almost expect something to bite you now and then."

If the West Virginia University mechanical engineering graduate is successful
in his quest this Sat., it will actually mark the second occasion that he has
accomplished the feat.

"Our team won all of the long distance races at Jennerstown back in 2000,"
Mitchell added.  "It was the same situation; we were just running a part-time
schedule, and things fell our way."

In light of his success, does Mitchell now wish he would have decided to
campaign for a third NASCAR crown?  "Not really...... we don't have the time to
prepare a car weekly to race," Mitchell said, "It hurries us to get everything
done to run the special events.  The guys on the team just don't have the time
to work on race cars every night.

"I said at the beginning of the season that this year was for fun," concluded
Mitchell.  "My goal is to return to a touring series next season...... that
is what we are pointing to and working toward.  We are talking with several
people; we'll just have to see what develops down the road."
