MITCHELL TAKES ON TALLADEGA

BRUCETON MILLS, WV (Sept. 27)........... West Virginia driver Richard
Mitchell and his Coach USA / Mountaineer Gaming / West Virginia "Wild and
Wonderful" Pontiac Grand Prix have taken to the ARCA Re/Max Series
superspeedways like a duck takes to water.

The two-time NASCAR Northeast Region Weekly Racing Series champion has
recorded a pair of top-10 finishes in his first two outings on the super
fast, high banked tri-ovals, and will be looking to better that mark October
5 in the Food World 300 ARCA event at Talladega Superspeedway.

"I really like the big tracks," Mitchell said, "I finished fifth at Talladega
last Oct. and seventh at Daytona in February.  It's a thrill to run flat out,
side by side with other cars at over 190 MPH."

According to Mitchell, patience is the key for a driver to be successful and
avoid the dreaded 'big one' (multi-car crash) at the 2.66 mile Alabama
speedplant.  "You have to be aware of the cars around you, and use a lot of
give-and-take with the other drivers to keep from not crashing."

"Many times you just have to stay in line and work with the cars in front and
behind you to make a pass.  It's difficult to pull out and make a pass by
yourself," Mitchell added.  "It can get frustrating ... last year at
Talladega I would be fifth one lap and drop all the way back to twelfth on
the next.  You have to trust your spotter and keep your cool.  If you try to
force the situation, it usually gets you in trouble."

The West Virginia University mechanical engineering graduate expects to run
well in the 300 mile race, but not in the qualifying session.

"We have one of the older Pontiac body styles," Mitchell said. "It's not as
aerodynamic as some of the newer cars.  The car pushes a great deal of air,
which means we won't be real fast running by ourselves.  I really don't
expect to be among the fast cars in time trials."

Mitchell does hope that placing 42 other cars on the track will produce a
different result.  "Our car drafts very well, and is stable in traffic,"
concluded Mitchell.  "Combine that with a Dan Begle-built engine, and I feel
we have a pretty good race package."

The Food World ARCA RE/MAX Series event at Talladega will be telecast on a
same -day, tape delay basis on the SPEED CHANNEL cable network from 8:00 -
11:00 PM (ET).
