MITCHELL RUNS SIXTH AT TALLADEGA

TALLADEGA, AL (Oct 5) ....... West Virginia driver Richard Mitchell kept his
ARCA RE/MAX Series top-10 super speedway streak intact, by driving his Coach
USA / Mountaineer Gaming / West Virginia "Wild and Wonderful" Pontiac Grand
Prix to a sixth-place finish in Saturday afternoon's Food World 300 at
Talladega  Superspeedway.  Mitchell finished fifth in last October's
Talladaega event, and seventh at Daytona Int. Speedway in February.

The two-time NASCAR Northeast Region Weekly Racing Serries champion started
from the 16th starting position, and "drafted" his way to the front of the
field on the high-banked 2.66 mile tri-oval

"We're satisfied with a top-10 run," Mitchell said, "the car ran great and we
had super pit stops all day long.  This particular car doesn't cut through
the air as well as some of the newer model ex-Winston Cup cars that finished
ahead of us, so we were pretty much dependent on drafting with other drivers
to get us to the front.  I lost the draft at one point late in the race, but
was able to hook up with Mark Gibson to get by a couple of cars who werre
racing side by side.  The top-five guys were running in single-file
formation, so we didn't have the opportunity to try to close the gap."

Mitchell and the Coach USA team won't get much rest as they are entered in
the Easy Care 150 ARCA RE/MAX Series event this Thursday evening at Lowe's
Motor Speedway.
