RICHARD MITCHELL
- LOWE'S NOTES & QUOTES
"Racing at Lowe's is special. There is so much history and
tradition
connected with the place, that I'm always a little emotional
when we race
here. It was always one of the tracks I dreamed about racing at
when we were
running the late models back home. This particular race is also
special
because it marks the one year anniversary of Blaise Alexander's
death. We'll
all be remembering Blaise and what he meant to the sport when we
buckle-in on
Thursday night."
SECRET TO WINNING AT LOWE'S:
"The trick to going fast at Lowe's is getting your car to be
able to run low
through the bumps in turns three and four. If your car doesn't
work really
well on that end of the track, you won't be able to carry your
speed on to
the front stretch dog leg. The problem is, the same car setup
doesn't
always work! Lowe's is one of those places that changes
constantly. What
worked in the spring race may be junk in the fall."
LOWE'S IS SAID TO BE WEATHER -SENSITIVE:
"For some reason the weather conditions really affect the cars
at Lowe's. A
major change in weather is a key factor at any race track, but
at Lowe's even
a stray cloud passing over will change the handling
characteristics of the
car dramatically. If the weather changes you can go from good
to bad in a
heart beat."
* Mitchell has finished fifth, tenth and 26th in his three
previous starts
at Lowe's.
* In four 2002 ARCA RE/MAX Series races Mitchell has recorded
three top-10

leading the July
Pocono race, Mitchell crashed after cutting-down a rear tire,
relegating him
to 27th in the final run down. Talladega results from Oct. 5
not available.

finishing 34th and 35th at Nashville Superspeedway, while
