MITCHELL
RECEIVES DISTINGUISHED WEST VIRGINIAN AWARD
BRUCETON MILLS, WV (Oct 1)........ NASCAR BUSCH Series driver
Richard
Mitchell has received the prestigious DISTINGUISHED WEST
VIRGINIAN AWARD for
his active role in promoting tourism and economic development in
the Mountain
State.
West Virginia Governor Bob Wise presented Mitchell with the
award on Sept. 26
following a visit and tour of the Mac Hill Motorsports Bruceton
Mills race
shop.
"I was happy and surprised Gov. Wise took the time to visit with
our team and
get a first hand view of how we operate," Mitchell said. "I
never expected to
get an award!"
"Actually everyone on the Coach USA / Mountaineer Gaming / West
Virginia
"Wild and Wonderful" team should have received one of these
(awards)," stated
the West Virginia University graduate. "These guys are all from
West
Virginia, and have been with me since I started racing. This
deal is just an
old fashion West Virginia team effort. Everyone pulls together
to get the
job done."
"Our team is proud to represent West Virginia," Mitchell added.
"I feel our
work ethic and determination to succeed is representative of the
citizens
throughout our state. We're no different from the guys working
in the coal
fields or in the mills. We are all West Virginians. The fact
that we are
able to promote West Virginia tourism and economic development
through our
NASCAR BUSCH Series program is an added bonus."
Mitchell and the Coach USA team will be competing in the ARCA
RE/MAX Series
Food World 300 this Sat. (Oct. 5) at Talladega Superspeedway.
The two-time NASCAR Northeast Region champion also will be in
action at
Lowe's Motor Speedway on Oct. 10, and will cap the season with a
NASCAR BUSCH
Series race at North Carolina Speedway (Rockingham) on Nov. 2.
