The USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series Makes Third of Four Appearances at Jennerstown Speedway

JENNERSTOWN, PA (July 30, 2002) – The USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series will make their third of four appearances at Jennerstown Speedway this Saturday, August 3, 2002.  Known as “America’s Most Exciting Short Track Racing Series,” the Hooters Pro Cup 250 will provide the race fan with 250 laps of wheel-to-wheel, bumper to bumper racing action!  This race will be the last race at the Laurel Highlands Oval prior to the “Four Champions Challenge” race on October 5, 2002.  The “Four Champions Challenge” race will set the Northern division drivers against the Southern division drivers, in one of a four race series to determine a national champion. 

 Among the 49 expected entries are local Northern division drivers Robby Marhefka, Jeff Dunmyer, Eric Corbett, Jeremiah Kuntz and Todd Peck.  They will face off against the other Northern division drivers such as Glenn Gault, Mardy Lindley, Danny Sammons and Mario Gosselin.  Plus Southern divisional points leader Bobby Gill is scheduled to make his first appearance of the ’02 season at Jennerstown Speedway. 

 The racing action doesn’t stop when the checkered flag falls on the Hooters Pro Cup 250, as the Naturally Fresh Late Model Challenge Series takes the stage in the third of five races.  The “Bleu Cheese Dressings 50” for the Wheeler Bros./AC Delco Late Models will provide the fans with as much racing action as one can handle, as Mark Cottone looks to increase his points lead over Barry Awtey.   Race fans also have the chance to win $1,000 as the “Spectator $500” returns to Jennerstown Speedway.  If one of the top five qualifying Wheeler Bros./AC Delco Late Model drivers wins the “Bleu Cheese Dressings 50” the fan paired with that driver will win $1,000!! 

 Spectator gates open at 3:30 p.m. with the racing excitement starting at 5:45 p.m. with an on-track autograph session, followed by the National Anthem performed by the Purchase Line High School Marching Band.  Pre-race ceremonies begin at 6:35 p.m. with the green flag dropping at 7:00 p.m. Adult pre-sale tickets are currently on sale for $15.00 and can be purchased at the track office or online.  For more information please call the track office at 814.629.6677 or log onto our website at www.jennerstown.com
