JENNERSTOWN, PA (July 30, 2002) – The USAR Hooters Pro Cup
Series will make their third of four appearances at Jennerstown
Speedway this Saturday, August 3, 2002. Known as “America’s
Most Exciting Short Track Racing Series,” the
Hooters Pro Cup 250
will provide the race fan with 250 laps of wheel-to-wheel,
bumper to bumper racing action! This race will be the last race
at the Laurel Highlands Oval prior to the “Four Champions
Challenge” race on October 5, 2002. The “Four Champions
Challenge” race will set the Northern division drivers against
the Southern division drivers, in one of a four race series to
determine a national champion.
Among the 49 expected entries are local Northern division
drivers Robby Marhefka, Jeff Dunmyer, Eric Corbett, Jeremiah
Kuntz and Todd Peck. They will face off against the other
Northern division drivers such as Glenn Gault, Mardy Lindley,
Danny Sammons and Mario Gosselin. Plus Southern divisional
points leader Bobby Gill is scheduled to make his first
appearance of the ’02 season at Jennerstown Speedway.
The
racing action doesn’t stop when the checkered flag falls on the
Hooters Pro Cup 250,
as the Naturally Fresh Late Model Challenge Series takes the
stage in the third of five races. The “Bleu Cheese Dressings
50” for the Wheeler Bros./AC Delco Late Models will provide the
fans with as much racing action as one can handle, as Mark
Cottone looks to increase his points lead over Barry Awtey.
Race fans also have the chance to win $1,000 as the “Spectator
$500” returns to Jennerstown Speedway. If one of the top five
qualifying Wheeler Bros./AC Delco Late Model drivers wins the
“Bleu Cheese Dressings 50” the fan paired with that driver will
win $1,000!!
Spectator gates open at 3:30 p.m. with the racing excitement
