NASCAR DRIVER TO PROMOTE GOOD HEALTH

MORGANTOWN. W.Va. -- NASCAR Busch Series Driver Richard Mitchell, working
with West Virginia University Prevention Research Center, has established the
“Race to Health” campaign to promote a healthy lifestyle for citizens of
West Virginia.

Mitchell, who recently posted a third-place finish in an ARCA RE/MAX Series
race at the Michigan International Speedway, will make special appearances in
schools and malls, and attend community events and festivals to spread the
word about safety, promote physical activity and encourage healthy eating.

The campaign is designed to inform, educate, challenge and empower West
Virginians to adopt a healthy lifestyle through providing health and safety
tips.  It will also combine radio networks’ broadcast resources with health
information, and will involve organizations and communities across West
Virginia.

“To make a difference with kids, it really helps to be part of their world,”
Mitchell said. “That is why I wanted to be part of this campaign.  Children
are our future and we need to do our part to make a lasting impression on
them.  I am excited to be working with WVU to help make a difference in
Appalachia.”

He will be at the Morgantown Mall August 9 for the WVAQ Children's Miracle
Network radio broadcast, and at Charleston’s Sternwheel Regatta on Labor Day
weekend.

Mitchell is a lifelong resident of Bruceton Mills, W.Va., where he is manager
of Mitchell Auto Parts.  He is a graduate of WVU with a bachelor's degree in
mechanical engineering.

His racing career started in 1995 in dwarf cars.  Soon, he moved to the late
model division at Motordrome and Jennerstown Speedways in Pennsylvania. He
quickly dominated this racing series, winning the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series
Northeast Region Championship in 1999 and 2000, the Motordrome Track
Championship in 1999 and 2000 and the Jennerstown Track Championship in 1999.
In 2001, Mitchell started racing in the ARCA RE/MAX racing series, where he
racked up two top 5 finishes and four top 10 finishes.

This year, Mitchell is splitting his time between the ARCA RE/MAX Series and
the BUSCH Series.
