SPEEDWAY’S CHASE TO THE CHECKERED ANNOUNCES 2003 TELEVISION
AFFILIATES, ADDS JOHNSTOWN/ALTOONA/STATE COLLEGE
(Somerset, PA) Romesburg Media announced the 2003 broadcast
affiliates for the television program “Chase to the
Checkered.”
As announced in November 2002, Chase to the Checkered, or
“C2C,” will air in the Pittsburgh television market on WNPA-TV
UPN-19. Romesburg Media reached an agreement today to air C2C
in the Johnstown/Altoona/State College market on the NBC
affiliate WJAC-TV.
Through its two affiliates, the popular motorsports
television program will reach over 1.46 million households
throughout Western and Central Pennsylvania.
Chase to the Checkered, which highlights the races, drivers
and events at Jennerstown Speedway, originally aired on WJAC
in the early 1990’s. In 2002, Romesburg Media revived the
program. C2C aired Saturday afternoons on WWCP-TV Fox 8 in
Johnstown to over 290,000 households.
In 2003, C2C will air at 8:30AM on UPN-19 and at 9:00AM on
WJAC every Saturday from May 31st to September 20th.
“We wanted to make sure our local fans and racefans to the
east could enjoy our program,” said Romesburg Media President
Jarred Romesburg. “Two Top 100 media markets also makes C2C an
even more appealing marketing option for regional and national
sponsors.”
In October of 2002, Chase to the Checkered was announced as a
finalist in the 2002 Aegis Awards for Sports Television/Video
Productions.
