- The PA
Legacy Series, sponsored by Cover Insurance Agency, had a
full field of cars for it’s season finale. Mark Howard from
Randleman, NC traveled to PA and took the top prize and the
trophy home. At the start of the feature event, Brett Boyer
jumped into the early lead until he slipped coming off of
turn 2 and hit the outside retaining wall. Several other
caution periods were shown for spins throughout the event.
A hard charging PJ Ehrlich made his way back through the
field, after being placed at the rear for an on track
incident, and finished a respectable 2nd. In
third place, it was Chris Brink with Dave Campbell finishing
forth. Rounding out the top 5 was Brad Grace with his best
finish of the year. The heat race win went to Joey
Dennewitz.

- Joey
Dennewitz has become the 2002 PA Legacy Series Champion with
a record of 14 wins out of 18 starts in just his second year
of competition in the Legacy Series. Backing up his 2001
Rookie of the Year title with the championship was just the
next step in his racing career. Plans for 2003 include
competing in the National Series for the Allison Legacy Race
cars.

- Rookie
of the Year title for the 2002 race season goes to Brett
Boyer. His record shows 1 win with 14 top 5’s and 17 top
10’s in his 18 starts. His plans for the 2003 race season
include chasing the championship in the PA Legacy Series.

- For
several of the drivers of the PA Legacy Series, the season
is far from being over. Many of the teams will be traveling
to Martinsville, VA in October and to Hickory, NC in
November for National Events for the Allison Legacy Race
Cars.

- A “Thank
You” goes out to Cover Insurance Agency, Jennerstown
Speedway and Motordrome Speedway for a successful 2002 race
season of the PA Legacy Series.
