The PA Legacy
Series, sponsored by Cover Insurance, gave the fans and exciting
and action packed feature event. Joey Dennewitz, Akron, OH and
Chris Brink, Glen Campbell, PA won the heat races.
In the feature
event, rookie Kyle Martel jumped into an early lead followed by
Brett Boyer. On lap 3, Joey Dennewitz tapped Boyer into a spin
and both were sent to the back. When racing resumed, Chris
Brink was pressuring Martel for the top spot. A few cautions
were shown during the event for several spins and one accident,
which tightened the battle for the top spots near the end of the
race. In the final few laps, a determined Chris Brink followed
Joey Dennewitz, but Brink ran out of laps to mount a charge. At
the checkered flag, it was Joey Dennewitz followed by Chris
Brink, Brett Boyer, Kyle Martel and PJ Ehrlich.
The PA Legacy
Series will return to action with a double race weekend. On
Friday, June 14, 2002 the PA Legacy Series will compete at
Motordrome Speedway and on Saturday, June 15, 2002 at
Jennerstown Speedway.
