The PA Legacy Series, sponsored by Cover Insurance, had a 3 race weekend.  At Motordrome Speedway on Friday, July 19, 2002, the rained out feature event from June 14, 2002 was first on the schedule.  Joey Dennewitz moved into the first place mid way through the event and never looked back.  The battle was between the cars driven by Mark Howard and Rick Boyer for the 2nd and 3rd spots.  At the checkered flag, it was Dennewitz, Howard, Rick Boyer, Brett Boyer and Kyle Martel.  Next up was the heat race which was won by Brett Boyer.  The second feature of the night shown Brett Boyer take the early lead with Rick Boyer, Joey Dennewitz and Mark Howard all in the chase.  Contact by Rick Boyer and Mark Howard caused the first caution period of the race.  When the race resumed, Joey Dennewitz jumped into the lead and didn’t look back.  Chris Brink moved into 2nd at the half way point.  Mark Howard and Rick Boyer both moved back up through the field into the top 5.  On lap 16, Mark Howard, while trying to pass Brett Boyer for 2nd place, made hard contact with the outside wall and Brett Boyer on the front stretch.  At the checkered flag, it was Joey Dennewitz repeating his victory followed by Chris Brink, Rick Boyer, Bill Miller and Dave Campbell.
 
On Saturday, July 20, 2002, the PA Legacy was at Jennerstown Speedway.  Heat race winners were Chris Brink and PJ Ehrlich.  At the start of the feature event, Chris Brink and PJ Ehrlich was side by side for the first 5 laps with Joey Dennewitz moving up quickly from his 6th place starting point.  Going into turn 4, the top 3 positions got together and spun sending all 3 competitors to the back. On the restart, Brett Boyer was in the lead and remained there until Joey Dennewitz worked his way back up through the field.  Brett Boyer and Joey Dennewitz raced side by side from lap 19 to lap 23 where Dennewitz pulled out in front.  At the checkered flag, it was Dennewitz, Boyer, PJ Ehrlich, Chris Brink and Dave Campbell.
 
The next event for the PA Legacy Series, sponsored by Cover Insurance, is Saturday, July 27, 2002 at Jennerstown Speedway.
