- The PA Legacy Series,
sponsored by Cover Insurance, was at Motordrome Speedway on
Friday, August 9, 2002 and on Saturday, August 10, 2002. The
familiar face of Joey Dennewitz was in victory lane on Friday
night and first time winner Brett Boyer picked up his victory
on Saturday night.

- At Motordrome Speedway on
Friday night, the feature event was a side-by-side battle for
most of the race with positions 2 through 5 being up for grabs
at anytime in the first half of the race. Rick Boyer was
battling Joey Dennewitz for 2nd position while PJ
Ehrlich jumped into the lead and took off to try and out run
the entire field. Fourth position was being decided between
Chris Brink and Dave Holder. A caution slowed the field due
to a spin by Jack Causer on lap 11. At the restart, Joey
Dennewitz put the pressure to race leader PJ Ehrlich. Ehrlich
did an good job of holding Dennewitz off until the final lap
when Ehrlich bobbled coming off of turn 2 which let Dennewitz
get the break he needed. At the checkered flag, it was Joey
Dennewitz followed by PJ Ehrlich, Brett Boyer, Chris Brink and
Dave Holder. Heat race winners were PJ Ehrlich and Rick
Boyer.

- On Saturday night,
Jennerstown Speedway was the host to the PA Legacy Series.
The crowd was on their feet cheering for either Brett Boyer or
Joey Dennewitz as they battled for the lead for the last half
of the feature event. At the start, Brett Boyer moved into
the lead followed closely by PJ Ehrlich. Joey Dennewitz moved
up through the field from his third row starting spot and into
second spot at the half way mark. Brett Boyer and Joey
Dennewitz was nose to tail the remainder of the race with
Brett Boyer crossing the finish line first for his first
victory this year. Joey Dennewitz finished second with PJ
Ehrlich in third, Chris Brink in fourth and Dave Holder in
fifth. Heat race winners were Chris Brink and Joey Dennewitz.

- The PA Legacy Series will
once again be participating at the Motordrome Speedway on
Friday, August 16, 2002 and at the Jennerstown Speedway on
Saturday, August 17, 2002.
