Jennerstown, PA - September 22, 2001 - Mark Cottone made it two wins in a row, as he held off some stiff competition to claim the checkered flag at Jennerstown Speedway during NASCAR Weekly Racing Series action. Other winners during Cover Insurance Agency race night were Todd Price in Jennerstown Pro Trucks, Adam Kostelnik in Brown Timber & Land Street Stocks, and Rick Boyer in Cover Insurance Agency/PA Legacy Series. June Weyant won the Jennerstown Chargers feature, while Larry Hemminger took the special Legends/Old Timers win. Carolyn Senneka won the Ladies Enduro race and Erik Gordon captured the Men's Enduro feature.

The Wheeler Bros./AC Delco Late Model division feature race was a great one for Mark Cottone, who started from the pole position, but faced a serious challenge from defending divisional champion Barry Awtey for most of the event. The first caution came when a spin on lap 39 forced a slowdown in the action. On the restart it was a duel between Cottone and Awtey, as the two drivers battled for the front position. Cottone came out on top, and lead for the remainder of the event. Awtey held on for second, with newly crowned Late Model division champion Neil Brown finishing in third. Bobby Henry and Cary Todaro rounded out the top five. Neil Brown and Bobby Henry won the heat races.

The Jennerstown Pro Truck race saw a contest waged between defending champion Aaron Will and newly crowned champion Todd Price, as the two combatants had a truck-to-truck challenge that resembled a changing of the guard. In the beginning it was Will pulling out with the race lead, with Price coming through the field on a steady pace towards the front. As the race went on it was Price who gained ground, and eventually passed Will for the race lead. At the finish line it was Price taking the checkers first, with Will in second. Third place went to Marion Reno Jr., with Jason Hounshell and Bryan Thomas finishing off the top five. Todd Price won the lone heat race.

Adam Kostelnik capped off his 2001 NASCAR Weekly Racing Series season by claiming the feature win, along with the Brown Timber & Land Street Stock division championship. The race was not too close, as Kostelnik moved out to a comfortable lead from his outside front row starting position. As the race unfolded, it was Todd Knight moving into second place, after working his way through the top runners. In the final laps, Kostelnik seemed to develop handling problems, but managed to hang on to his racecar to the finish line. Knight came home in second, with Carl Travarrow, Chris Deyarmin, and John Pribanich completing the top five. Adam Kostelnik and John Pribanich won the heat races.

Rick Boyer had the Cover Insurance Agency/PA Legacy Series race all in hand, as the Blairsville native claimed another feature win. A large pile-up midway through the race jumbled the field, but in the end it was Brandon Taylor emerging with a good second place finish. The remainder of the top five were Jayme Bolkovac, Chris Brink, and Brett Boyer.

The Jennerstown Chargers feature event was a great race, as June Weyant claimed his second win in a row. The surprise finish of the evening went to Curtis Stewart, who finished a very respectable second, with only limited experience. Jason Fritz won the battle for position over newly crowned divisional champion Jason Holder, as the two drivers finished third and fourth respectively. Joe Geary finished out the top five.

The Legends/Old Timers race was one for many of the fans to remember, as Larry Hemminger showed little effects of his time off from behind the wheel, and went on to claim the special event win using the Jennerstown Charger cars. Clyde Weyant Sr. showed great poise, as he ran down the race leader in the closing laps, and finished within a car's length to take home a second place. Curt Stewart Sr. claimed third place, with Dave Holder and Mike Lemley finishing fourth and fifth.

Carolyn Senneka won the Ladies Enduro race, while Eric Gordon took the Men's Enduro feature event.
