USAR FOUR
CHAMPIONS SERIES BEGINS AT JENNERSTOWN SPEEEDWAY |
JENNERSTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA -- The national United Speed Alliance
Racing
(USAR) Four Champions races begin on Saturday, September 29,
2001, at
Jennerstown Speedway with the Charlie Campbell Memorial/Hooter
250. In
this unique racing format the top drivers from the USAR Hooters
Pro Cup
Northern and Southern Divisions race head-to-head to determine
the USAR
Hooters Pro Cup national champion.
The Northern Division is led by season-long point leader Mardy
Lindley. The Southern Division is led by two-time series
champion Bobby
Gill. Listening to the drivers, the Northern Division teams may
have an
advantage in the Jennerstown Championship race.
"We talked to a lot of good racers and people told us what to
expect before
we came here the first time," said Steven Christian, the top
Southern
Division driver to race at the Jennerstown track earlier this
year. "We
had a pretty good chassis set-up. But, we still missed on our
overall
chassis package. You have to race here to know exactly what you
need under
the car in the way of springs and shocks. We'll come back with
a much
better race set-up."
Both previous winners of USAR Pro Cup races at Jennerstown -
Stacy Puryear
and Jeff Agnew - are eligible to compete in the championship
series. Agnew, a former series champion, is the most recent
USAR winner at
Jennerstown. He won the 250-lap thriller by taking the lead on
the final
turn of the final lap.
