September 12, 2001--(Jennerstown, PA) -- Jennerstown Speedway
promoter Steve Peles has decided to move forward with the
scheduled weekend activities at the speedway. This comes after
much deliberation regarding the tragic and unprecedented assault
by terrorists Tuesday morning on America.
Steve Peles stated, “We here at
Jennerstown Speedway are deeply saddened and disturbed by these
terrible acts, on behalf of all of our officials, employees and
office personal I would like to offer our thoughts and prayers
to all of those who have suffered loses. This is a great country
that stands for freedom and liberty; we will all have heavy
hearts this weekend but we will bounce back with our lives and
move on, even though we will never forget those who lost their
lives on that tragic day.”
Activities at the speedway will
begin Saturday, September 15. Pit gates open at 12 Noon with
spectator gates opening at 2:00 p.m. Late model time trials
will take place at 3:00 p.m., features will start at 6:30 p.m.
