Mitchell to
Start 20th in ARCA Debut |
Concord, NC (May 18) ... Defending NASCAR weekly racing series
Northeast Region Champion Richard Mitchell will start from the
twentieth position in his ARCA RE/MAX Series debut this Saturday
at the Lowes Motor Speedway.
Mitchell qualified at a speed of 176 .991 miles per hour in his
Mac Hill Motorsports/ Forest River Motorhomes Pontiac, but the
Bruceton Mills, WV driver was far from happy with his
performance.
"I lost at least three-tenths of a second on our second
qualifying lap," Mitchell lamented. "I brought the car down too
quickly coming off the second turn, and the left front tire
caught the inside of the apron...it just broke loose."
Mitchell expects his race performance to be much better. "We
should be good for the race," Mitchell added. "The car is very
consistent in race trim. We turned laps in the mid-177 mph
bracket all afternoon." Tim Steele of Coopersville, Michigan
recorded fast time with a mark of 183.505 mph.
The Easy Care 100 event will be televised live Saturday evening
on the Fox FX channel beginning at 5:45 PM EST
