MITCHELL TO START 8th in MICHIGAN ARCA 200

BROOKLYN, MI (July 19)...NASCAR Northeast region champion Richard Mitchell
will wind up 8th in this Saturday's Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA)
RE/MAX Michigan 200 at Michigan International Speedway.

The Bruceton Mills, WV pilot pushed his Coach USA/Forest River Motorhomes
Pontiac around the 2.0 tri-oval at a speed of 178.368 MPH to record his first
ever ARCA top-10 qualifying run.  "We gained over half a second over our
previous qualifying speed here in June," Mitchell said.  "We get faster and
faster each time we go out on the track.  I'm really looking forward to the
race on Saturday."

Mitchell's was the first car on the track for qualification runs.  "I cut a
good lap," Mitchell added, "but it was tough because I had no other times to
shoot at."

Pennsylvania driver Blaze Alexander will start from the pole after qualifying
at a speed of 183.650 MPH.

The ARCA Michigan 200 will not be telecast live on Saturday, July 21st. The
race will be broadcast on the Speedvision cable network on August 3rd, at 9
PM, EDT.
