MITCHELL TO
START 5TH IN CHICAGOLAND |
Joliet, IL (AUG 30) ... Bruceton Mills, WV driver Richard
Mitchell will
start fifth in Saturday's inaugural ARCA RE/MAX 200 at the new
Chicagoland
Speedway.
Mitchell, who recorded his third consecutive top-ten ARCA
qualifying run
drove his Coach USA/Mountaineer Gaming/Forest River Motorhomes
Pontiac Grand
Prix around the unique 1.5 mile D-shaped oval in a time of
32.188 (167.764
mph).
"Our car was good right out of the transporter," said Mitchell.
"In fact, we
even ran a litter faster during practice, but the sun came out
during
qualifying and slowed everyone down a bit. The car feels very
stable, even
though this track is very slick due to the new asphalt surface,"
added the
two time defending NASCAR Northeast region champion. "We'll
work on our race
setup during happy hour on Friday and see what happens in the
race Saturday."
Michigan's Tim Steele set fast time with a mark of 31.620.
