"We recognize that the State of West Virginia is a motorsport
hot bed. NASCAR driver Rusty Wallace made a guest appearance
at
Mountaineer and thousands of people stood in line for hours to
get his
autograph," said Ted Arneault, Mountaineer president & CEO.
"The
decision to support Richard Mitchell on the ARCA circuit was an
easy one
for us. He is the top driver in the tri-state region, and we
want to be
with him when he races into the national spotlight."
Mitchell, a West Virginia University graduate with a degree in
mechanical engineering, is running a 10-race ARCA schedule this
year,
after winning two-consecutive NASCAR Northeast region titles.
"It feels great to have West Virginia's top tourist attraction
on board with us for the remainder of the year," Mitchell said.
"Knowing that people throughout the State are behind the team
gives me a
sense of pride and accomplishment."
Mountaineer Race Track & Gaming Resort will partner with Coach
USA, the largest provider of motorcoach charter, tour and
