(April 9, 2001) - Sunoco Performance Products is proud to announce
sponsorship of the Sunoco pole award for all of the Northern
Division races on the 2001 Hooters ProCup Series schedule this
season. The first event will take place at Jennerstown Speedway, in
Jennerstown, PA on Saturday, April 21, 2001.

is proud to extend our involvement with USAR,” commented Paul
Schwab, Manager. “We have had such a successful relationship with
the Hooters Pro Cup Series, this gives us a way to give even more
back to the drivers.” In addition to the $1000 awarded to the pole
winner at each event, Sunoco will award $5,000 at the season end
banquet to the driver with the most pole awards in the northern
division.
The touring series
will venture into the northern region of the United States for the
first time this season with 13 out of 30 events scheduled to take
place north of Virginia. “Having the series in the same marketing
area as our Sunoco retail gas locations is a bonus for Sunoco,”
Schwab stated. “It just made sense to sponsor the Pole Award.”
