JENNERSTOWN
SPEEDWAY PLANS FOR USAR-HOOTERS PROCUP EVENT
Jennerstown, PA -
Jennerstown Speedway L.L.C. is proud to present the inaugural
USAR-Hooters ProCup Series Northern Division stock car racing
event Saturday April 21, 2001 at the Laurel Highlands Oval. The
race is titled as the "Naturally Fresh Dressings 200" presented
by Rolling Rock Beer, and will run in conjunction with a fifty
lap Wheeler Bros./AC Delco Late Model Division race to be held
prior to the main event. Grandstand gates will open at 4 P.M. so
that race fans can see all of the action, including practice
sessions and qualifying for both divisions, leading up to the
feature races. Fans in attendance will also have the chance to
see themselves, along with all of the racing action, when the
event is rebroadcast on the Speedvision Network. The television
airings will be on the following Thursday and Friday of the
race.
United Speed Alliance Racing handpicked Jennerstown Speedway as
their Northern Division headquarters and scheduled two regular
season races, including the Series opener, along with one of the
Four Champions Championship Series post-season events for the
2001 season. Their high level of interest with the Laurel
Highlands Oval is proof positive that the current management is
on the right track towards maintaining Jennerstown Speedway as
one of the premier short track racing facilities within the
United States.
"Whenever the decision was made to expand our racing operations
into the Northern market, it did not take us long to decide that
Jennerstown Speedway was the obvious choice to introduce the
USAR-Hooters ProCup Series to the racing fans," said USAR Public
Relations Director Tim Southers. "Jennerstown Speedway is well
know within all stock car racing sanctioning bodies as one of
the finest race tracks, along with a well established and
enthusiastic fan base. We look forward to working with Steve
Peles to establish the Hooters ProCup Series as the best short
track racing program in the country," he said.
The United Speed Alliance Racing organization has developed
their reputation for presenting excellent stock car races over
the past five years, primarily throughout the Southeastern
United States. The Hooters ProCup Series has also enjoyed a
worldwide acceptance, primarily due to the television coverage
provided by the Speedvision Network.
"We are proud to have been chosen by USAR to host their first
ever Hooters ProCup Series Northern Division event, and we look
forward to showcasing the Jennerstown Speedway to a nationwide
audience of race fans throughout the three separate races this
season," said Speedway President Steve Peles. "It's a great day
for racing at Jennerstown", he said. |
