After several rain delays, cancellations due to rain and a week off, the PA Legacy Series drivers were ready to go racing.  The heat races left the cars of Thomas, Holder and Peck with severe damage.  Heat race winners were Dustin Powell and Rick Boyer. 

In the feature event, the point’s leader, Jayme Bolkovac jumped out to an early lead but quickly faded back into the middle of the field.  The Boyer Racing Inc. teammates of Rick Boyer and Ricky Anderson took off with action in the middle and back of the pack of cars.  Moving up through the field was rookie contender Joey Dennewitz after being involved in a heat race accident and starting last in the feature.  Several spins brought out the caution flag in the first half of the race and tightened the pack up.  Side by side action for 3^rd place was with Dustin Powell and Joey Dennewitz.  The caution flag was shown once again for a spin by Jack Causer on the front stretch.  On the restart, several cars were battling for position and contact was made between Dennewitz and Powell resulting in Dennewitz hard into the outside wall in turn 2.  Bill Miller also spun in this incident.  On the restart, with only 4 laps remaining, Rick Boyer jumped out to the lead and saw the checkered flag the first time this year in the PA Legacy Series, sponsored by Cover Insurance.  Following Boyer to the line was Marshall Biddington, Ricky Anderson, PJ Ehrlich and Jayme Bolkovac. 

Next week, the PA Legacy Series will be at Jennerstown to make up the rained out 50-lap event originally scheduled for July 4, 2001.  The field has already been set with qualifying on July 7, 2001.  A second feature event will also be held on Saturday night to complete the evening.
