Jennerstown, PA -Team Three Motorsports Inc. is pleased to announce
their new association with United Speed Alliance Racing (USAR), by
hosting two separate events for their Hooters Procup Series at the
Jennerstown Speedway during the 2001 racing season. The USAR has chosen
the Jennerstown Speedway as their premier Northern Region facility by
scheduling their inaugural 2001 series season opener to be held in April
of 2001 at the Laurel Highlands Oval, a modern .522 mile asphalt oval
speedway which has a reputation of successfully hosting other major
touring series events, sanctioned by some of the nations finest
automotive racing organizations. The second race will be a championship
series event, which will be held at season’s end in September of 2001.
The Hooters Procup Series two separate regions, Northern and Southern,
will each have a separate points system with drivers eligible to collect
points only for races within their own region. At the end of the season
in September, Jennerstown Speedway’s 10,000 seat facility will be filled
to capacity when they also host the final event of the USAR Championship
Series, which will pit the top 25 teams from both the Northern and
Southern Regions regular season against each other, in a separate five
race series, to determine the overall Hooters Procup Series Champion for
the 2001 season. USAR President Gene Cox was thrilled with the
acceptance of Jennerstown Speedway to become a major part of the Hooters
Procup Series expansion plans for the 2001 season.
"We are pleased to have Jennerstown Speedway on our 2001 schedule," said
Cox.
"When we began our research on tracks that could host a Hooters Procup
Series race, Jennerstown was one of the first tracks we contacted. We
are honored that one of the premier short tracks in the nation has
decided to welcome USAR," he said.
While the Hooters Procup Series now looks to venture into uncharted
territory, Jennerstown Speedway General Manager and veteran race car
champion Steve Peles feels that the combination of this 3,300 pound, 550
horsepower stock car racing series, plus the knowledgeable racing fans
of the Keystone State, and the fabulous Jennerstown Speedway, will make
for some excellent events at the Laurel Highlands Oval.
"Our fans already enjoy exciting Late Model racing, and they are very
familiar with stock cars. I know that the Hooters Procup Series cars
will put on a great show," said Peles. "I have followed the series for a
while now, and I am a big fan. It is an honor for our speedway to
present these prestigious races and be a host for the series," he said.
