Jennerstown, PA- Team Three Motorsports Inc. is proud to announce the
only area appearance of the U.S. Air Force Demonstration Squadron,
"Thunderbirds", pilots this Saturday August 19th, at the Jennerstown
Speedway, to give local fans the chance to meet these extraordinary
airmen up close and in person. While the demonstration squadron pilots
will not have their jets with them for this appearance, the opportunity
for parents and their families to meet with these U.S. Armed Forces
ambassadors is one that is sure to be remembered by all.
The "Thunderbirds" squadron is comprised of 12 officers, and more than
120 enlisted men and women, who are all volunteers that are
competitively selected for assignment to the team. Among this elite
corps of highly skilled individuals are many area natives, including
SSgt. Darin Mauzy from Boswell, PA., SSgt. Jeff Fisher of Johnstown,
PA., MSgt. Joe Kubistek and SrA. Eric Ashbaugh of Latrobe, PA., and
SSgt. Ron Eckman of New Kensington, PA., all serving their country in
the highest standard.
Many racefans may be more familiar with the local "pilots" of race cars
ranging from Chargers up to Late Models, but the men who fly with the
"Thunderbirds", sit behind the controls of the Lockheed Martin F-16
Fighting Falcon, the most sought after fighter in the world today. With
a Pratt & Whitney turbofan engine that provides over 25,000 pounds of
thrust, that can propel these jets to more than 1,500 miles per hour
(Mach 2+), these men know exactly what the meaning of high performance
is all about.
Team Three Motorsports Inc. has invited these men to share in the rich
racing excitement of Jennerstown Speedway during their mid-season break
in a hectic, eight month exhibition show schedule. One that criss-crosses
the entire country many times, in addition to their recent completion of
a European tour, which included appearances in eight different
countries.
It certainly will not take a great deal of arm twisting to get these men
a seat in the Steve Peles "Ride and Drive" Experience Late Model car for
some fast laps at ground level. While Mach 2+ may be a very fast ride in
the open skies, 125 miles per hour within the confines of the Laurel
Highlands Oval is another experience all unto itself. Who knows, you
just might see one of these high flyers behind the wheel, if the right
opportunity comes along.
Don’t miss out on your chance to see the men who showcase our nations
finest fighter aircraft, in a personal appearance that may never be
available in this area any time in the near future. Bring your family
and friends out to meet some of the finest U.S. Armed Forces
representatives in the nation, our nation, the United States of America.
