The PA Legacy Series had a double header this weekend with racing at
both Motordrome Speedway and Jennerstown Speedway. Friday night's
racing was fast paced with Mike Smith jumping into the lead and
never looking back. Jayme Bolkovac was in pursuit until a spin in
turn 4 moved her to the rear of the field. Racing resumed and Rick
Boyer and Rick Anderson moved from the 11th and 12th starting spots
into 2nd and 3rd. Rick Boyer, Rick Anderson, rookie PJ Ehrlich, and
Jayme Bolkovac followed Mike Smith to the checkered flag.
Heat race winner was Mike Smith.
Saturday night at Jennerstown Speedway started out with cool
temperatures but the racing was hot. Mike Smith, by the luck of the
draw started on the pole and never looked back. There were battles
all over the field with Bill Miller, Art McElhinney, Dave Holder,
and Ed Boyer battling the entire race for the 6th position. With 10
laps to go, Jayme Bolkovac and Rick Anderson battled side by side
until the checkered flag. Jayme Bolkovac, Rick Anderson, PJ Ehrlich,
and Dustin Powell followed Mike Smith to the line. Heat race winners
were Mike Smith and PJ Ehrlich.
The PA Legacy Series, sponsored by Cover Insurance, will be racing
at Jennerstown Speedway next Saturday night. The "Irwin RV Blue-Grey
Shootout" event is scheduled for Saturday, May 27, 2000 with 50 laps
of exciting racing. This national event of the Allison Legacy will
have competitors from across the country. Come out and see what the
Legacy Series is all about.
