The PA Legacy Series, sponsored by Cover Insurance, had a full field of cars including veteran drivers Rick Boyer and Mike Smith and first time rookie, Joey Dennewitz from Akron, Ohio.  Heat races were won by Rick Boyer and Mike Smith.
 
In the feature event, the poll setter, Rick Anderson, jumped out to an early lead only to be chased down by Mike Smith who took over the lead prior to the ½ way mark.  The caution flag was shown to the field on lap 17 for a spin involving Bill Miller.  On the restart, current points leader Jayme Bolkovac and Mike Smith restarted side by side and finished the race side by side with 8 laps of  “stand on your feet and cheer” excitement.  At the checkered flag, it was Mike Smith winning by a nose over Jayme Bolkovac, with Rick Boyer in 3rd, Rick Anderson in 4th, and Ed Boyer in 5th.
 
The PA Legacy Series as a group will have next week off due to the scheduling of the ASA event at Jennerstown Speedway.  Several of the competitors will be traveling to Myrtle Beach, SC for a national event.  While others will be traveling to Berlin Raceway  in Marne, Michigan for a regional race for the American Legacy Series.
 
On Friday, August 11, 2000, the PA Legacy Series will be returning to the Motordrome Speedway  and to Jennerstown Speedway on Saturday, August 12, 2000 for a double header weekend.
